I was framed! Just kidding...my paintings were.

These aren't my latest paintings but I just finished the frame today.  They are made of plywood and painted to look like rusty metal.  The paintings are velcroed in so they can be easily changed out or rearranged.  The frame is 22"x 22" and the paintings are each about 6"x 6".

I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving.  I'm still stuffed.  I think I know how the turkey must have felt.  More new paintings coming soon.

Wanted: Ghostwriter

Poof, and the ghostwriter vanished and I'm left holding the blog...So...

The San Clemente Art Association is having their "Small Works" show from October 30th thru January 6th and the reception is Saturday November 6th from 3:00-5:00.  Everyone is welcome.  There are about 190 paintings, all priced at $300 or less, so if you can make it to the gallery, there are some really good paintings at really good prices.  (They make great holiday gifts).  The Gallery hours are 10:00 - 4:00 on the weekends and noon - 4:00 weekdays.  The gallery is located at the San Clemente Community Center on the corner of Calle Seville and Avenida Del Mar.  Below are my entries.

Day 6: The Landscape

Here's a couple of landscape paintings I did this afternoon.  I spent most of the afternoon making more canvas panels so I didn't have much time for painting.  I think they turned out pretty good.  Hope you like them.  I'm running out of words so I hope you're not getting bored.

Another painting...another blog

It's day 5 of my 7 paintings in 7 days...my ghostwriter is three sheets to the wind so I'm on my own tonight.  I probably shouldn't have drank that bottle of wine.  Oops.  Hope you like the painting.  Thanks again for all your comments.

I don't really drink as much as it might seam...All these painting are painted out of my head.  No photos, props or anything.  Just me, my paints and my brushes.Maybe I should call it the "Out of my Mind" series.

Day 4 painting

The painting for today kinda goes with the painting I did yesterday.  So I named it A Shot in the Dark Part 2.  I hope you like it.  If you have any ideas for a painting,  let me know and maybe I'll give it a whirl.  Thanks again for letting me share my paintings with you.

It's only Day 3...

Day 3.  I tried to paint this morning but it just wasn't happening.  So I tried again tonight and this was all I could come up with.  It's called A Shot in the Dark...Hope you like it.  It was still wet when I photographed it and it's a little blurry...sorry about that.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!!

Day 2...

I don't normally paint everyday but since my days are numbered this will be #2.  I painted it yesterday.  It's a flower painting and I made the frame because I have trouble finding a frame that looks good with my art.  It's a wooden frame painted to look like rust.  Hope you like it.

Thanks for all your comments.  If you have any questions about my art, I'd be happy to share anything I know.

Seven Paintings in Seven Days: Day 1

Hello, a picture's worth a thousand words.... enter ghostwriter... I painted this at the San Clemente Art Fair in August while working the demo booth. The painting is now framed and waiting to be hung in a friend's dining room. She's waiting for 3 more to make it a set.

Grand Opening!

This is it! Holy Moley! ..... What to say, what to say.... snicker snicker.... sigh... So this is harder than I thought. No, just as hard as I thought. I can't believe Hilary is making me do this. My first blog. Okay, so she's making me say something here. Fraidy Cat Studio - it's the name of my art studio. It's also me, hence the difficulty with this blog.
So I'm going to make this quick. Here is the plan. Seven paintings in seven days. I'll post them here.
I hope you'll cheer me on. I'm gonna need it!
